Seven 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Games to be held in The City of Brasilia

There are going to be 12 host cities for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals, and one of these is Brasilia, which is now the capital of Brazil. Located in Brazil’s center, this very modernized city was constructed in the year 1956 and was officially founded on April 21, 1960. Since it was officially founded, it has served its main function for which it was constructed: to replace the capital of the country, which was Rio de Janeiro then. Because of the switch made, a big part of the country’s federal administration as well as the bulk of its political power is located here.

One of the most popular features of Brasilia that draw in many tourists is its numerous wide avenues. These avenues surround both the city’s two districts, one being in the north while the other is in the south, and the city’s public buildings. These are also divided into what the Brazilians call as the “superblocks.” Numerous buildings are located in each of these so-called “superblocks.” The city’s central area is called the “Praça dos Três Poderes,” or Three Powers’ Square. This is where the Supreme Federal Court headquarters as well as the Executive and Legislative Power seats can be found.

As mentioned above, Brasilia is one of the 12 World Cup Host Cities for the 2014 FIFA tournament. The game will be held at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia. This imposing structure, with an overall capacity for 70,042 spectators, is the second biggest stadium that will host matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Constructed in the year 2012, this stadium features metal stands, a metal roof, and a lowered pitch that will enable the spectators to have an unobstructed view, wherever they may be seated. The stadium will be a venue for seven 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals games.
